Award granted to FSC by HopeLine from Verizon
June 2014 - Family Services Center was recently awarded a grant of $2,500 from Verizon as part of their HopeLine organization.
HopeLine from Verizon is committed to stopping the epidemic of domestic violence and, in turn, supporting local agencies like Family Services Center that work diligently to assist the victims and prevent the act of domestic violence.
HopeLine from Verizon accepts donated no-longer-used cell phones, scrubs any information off of them, refurbishes the phones, and then distributes them to domestic violence survivors with free minutes and texting on the Verizon network. Any unusable phones are responsibly recycled to protect the environment, and proceeds from the program go to local organizations such as FSC.
Family Services Center offers multiple ways to prevent potentially violent domestic disputes, such as their Domestic Violence Intervention program, Anger Management program, as well as counseling and support for victims.
